Students and staff alike have now moved in to our brand new Winsford Campus. Situated next to the Town Park, the Campus is a £9.6m investment in the town which will provide state-of-the-art facilities for over 400 full-time students.
The project was officially launched back on 2nd October 2008 when Local Government Minister John Healey visited Winsford to take part in our "ground-breaking" ceremony. The minister was joined by a group of Year 9 pupils from Woodford Lodge and Verdin high schools, key partners in the project.
In September 2010 our new intake of students joined us in the new build, taking courses as diverse as Health & Social Care, Child Care, Uniformed & Public Services, Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing. The campus will also act as the base for the College's adult provision, including the popular Access to Higher Education programme. The College's Skills for Life team are also based at the Winsford Campus.
Mid Cheshire College Principal John Reilly said:
"We've spent a number of years planning and designing the new College, working in collaboration with the local schools and other partners like the local authorities, Connexions, the LSC and the North West Development Agency".
"We're absolutely delighted with the quality of the new campus. Indeed, it is one of the most impressive educational buildings that I have ever visited. We are confident that this will be a community asset that the people of Winsford will be very proud of."
