Celebrations are under way as the Student Recruitment Team is awarded Matrix accreditation for their information, advice and guidance service.“The recruitment function was assessed, over 3 intensive days, for its external delivery of impartial information and advice and guidance” said Elaine Andrews, Admissions Officer at the College. “Over 30 people were interviewed including current students, parents, representatives from local schools, as well as College support and teaching staff” said Elaine.The Matrix Standard is a national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and guidance on learning and work. Matrix replaced the original National Quality Standards, to ensure services funded by the government were of a high quality.Liz Davis, Area Director of the Cheshire and Warrington Learning and Skills Council presented the Student Recruitment Team with the prestigious award and said – “Students who choose the right course of study are most likely to complete it successfully. My congratulations go to the staff of Mid-Cheshire College on achieving the Matrix standard, which aims to ensure that those seeking a course of study receive high quality and impartial advice and guidance, which is a key factor when making the right choices.”Areas of good practice highlighted in the inspection report included, ‘particularly high levels of impartiality were demonstrated throughout the assessment and in the evidence gathered from talking to clients who used the service, ‘very high satisfaction rates with the information, advice and guidance received from the Student Recruitment Team’, ‘clients interviewed for the purpose of the assessment demonstrated very high satisfaction rates with the information received’, all information was relevant and sufficient for the clients’ needs.’If you would like information on courses the College is holding an Open Evening on Monday 16th October from 6.00pm until 9.00pm, call 01606 74444 for details.
