Kinki University Technical College
Since 2004 the College has had a very fruitful partnership with the Kinki University Technical College, based in Kumano, near Hiroshima. The link was originally established by Engineering lecturer Dave Humphries whose son, Simon, is a teacher of English at KUTC.
For the past five years we have taken it in turn to visit each other on a biennial basis. In October 2008, a party of five staff and students from Mid-Cheshire College went over to Kumano to spend ten days with our Japanese friends and were greatly impressed by the country and its people.
In May 2009 we welcomed a group of Japanese guests who spent ten days in Cheshire. During their visit, they visited a range of historical venues including Ironbridge, Stratford -on-Avon, Chatsworth and historic Chester. It wasn't all history, though - our guests were also keen to visit Manchester United and spend some time shopping at The Trafford Centre!
