Frequently Asked Questions
1. I would like to train my staff but in the current climate I just can't afford it. Is there any financial support for businesses?
Workplace Training and Apprenticeships are often fully funded and therefore at no cost to your business. Apprenticeship training is "on the job" so the learner is gaining and using their skills to the benefit of your business and adding to the experience of your workforce.
2. I'm interested in taking on an Apprentice but have never had to train someone from scratch before - what sort of help can I get?
Mid Cheshire College will provide you with a dedicated qualified assessor who will work with you and your apprentice to meet the requirements of your business. Apprenticeships are available across a multitude of occupational areas and at different skill levels to fit in with your businesses needs.
3. One of my staff members wants to study part time for a Foundation Degree but this means her taking time away from work. I'm not convinced; what would the benefit be to my business?
Employees who are working towards and completing a Foundation Degree are in a better position to make informed decisions for your business. The result can be a more competitive edge for your business with minimum disruption as many of the courses are available on a part time basis often in the evenings. Staff turnover can be reduced cutting the cost of recruiting and training new members of staff. Mid Cheshire College will tailor courses to the needs of your business and develop the right programme to meet these requirements.
4. I can't afford to take on any new staff at the moment so would like to help my current employees to ‘up skill'. What sort of training is available?
Mid Cheshire College can carry out a training needs analysis on your business and then work with you to identify the gaps in your current skill base. A range of qualifications can be tailored to these requirements including some fully fundable government programmes. Training will be delivered offsite or at your premises at a time to suit your working patterns.
