Foundation Degrees - How can the employer benefit?
What is a Foundation Degree
Foundation Degrees are higher education qualifications that are designed with employers as an alternative to a traditional degree programme.
Combining work-based learning with academic study; Foundation Degrees offer employers the opportunity to enhance staff training and development with minimal disruption to the business operation. Many courses are available on a part-time basis.
We work with employers to develop Foundation Degrees tailored specifically to the needs of their organisation and sector.
Alternatively organisations can utilise one of our existing Foundation Degree programmes to meet their needs.
What are the distinctive features of a Foundation Degree?
- Employer-Driven - designed with employers to meet their needs and to plug regional skills gaps.
- Flexible - can be delivered in a variety of ways to suit your business and to minimise disruption to the workplace, for example, twilight and evening sessions, assessments in the workplace.
- Positive and immediate impact - your staff can work on projects that will benefit your business as part of the course.
- Customised to suit your business - employers can be involved in the design of Foundation Degrees to suit their own requirements.
- High quality - Foundation Degrees are accredited by universities and require equivalent final standards of academic attainment as the second year of an honours degree.
- Cost - Excellent value for money
- Accreditation - it may be possible to accredit existing company training schemes as part of the degree.
